about

"Rumble" is a Link Wray song that has been used in many movies, most famously Pulp Fiction and Independence Day. I was actually thinking of Robert Rodriguez' second film "Roadracers". (Check it out!) But even in its original form it kind of follows the blueprint of the old Frankie Machine theme from "The Man with the Golden Arm". Originally, I intended to mash the two songs but, after I did the first take guitar solo, I went "Fuck it, I ain't messing with that. This recording also aims into the heart of that song played by the band in One Eyed Jack's in Fire Walk With Me. I toyed with recording a version of that too but this version of "Rumble" really carried that vibe by itself.
