The Light Brigade
Going Underground
In 1854, a series of miscommunications led to a light cavalry force attacking a heavily fortified position in Crimea. What should have been a scandal was rebadged in Alfred, Lord Tennyson's poem "The Charge of the Light Brigade" as the ultimate act of British courage.

In Tennyson’s narrative, ideals were worth dying for, despite hopeless odds. It is a notion more noble in theory than in practice.

And so here we are. Cursing a band with a poorly fated moniker. Safe in the knowledge no-one will listen. A release doomed to failure. A bunch of fools staring down the long night of oblivion.
On these recordings, Bob Short and his compatriots take a stroll through our collective unconsciousness. This is less tribute album and more a reinterpretation, a blending of the sounds of our lives. Whilst these songs hold a common heritage, they have also seemingly been with us always. Hymns to a darker pantheon.

Well, if the ideal still holds good, you know what you have to do. Get up there. Do it. If it sounds right to you, make it right.

Because the one thing we know for sure is that we'll all soon be GOING UNDERGROUND.
